lesson rates
Many music teaching studios charge pro-rated fees each month based on the number of scheduled weekly lessons, but our convenient monthly billing system takes care of all the calculations and gives you a fixed monthly fee. Lessons with a senior instructor 30-minute lessons: $108.25 per month ($26 per lesson) 45-minute lessons: $156.25 per month ($37.50 per lesson) 60-minute lessons: $208.25 per month ($50 per lesson) Lessons with a junior instructor 30-minute lessons: $83.25 per month ($20 per lesson) 45-minute lessons: $118.75 per month ($28.50 per lesson) 60-minute lessons: $158.25 per month ($38 per lesson) Two students may share a lesson for 1.5 times the regular rate - in other words, full price for one student plus 50% off for the second student. For all weekly lessons, an annual registration fee of $20 is due with the first month's payment. Answers to some frequently asked questions How are monthly rates calculated? The Richardson Guitar Studio offers lessons 50 weeks a year, with a 2-week winter holiday break. Each month's payment is equal to the per-lesson rate multiplied by 50 weeks and divided by 12 months. Do I have to commit to a whole year of lessons? No, your commitment is only one month at a time. Because many students do take lessons for a year or more, our systems are set up to make ongoing lessons as convenient as possible. Does the monthly rate work out the same as if I paid lesson by lesson? Over the course of 12 months, the payments work out exactly the same. Some students may pay a little more or less depending on their starting and ending dates. In our experience, most students find that the convenience of an average rate outweighs any small variations in cost. We are happy to go over sample calculations for anyone who would like to make a comparison. When are payments due? Monthly fees are charged automatically on the first of each month, by credit card or checking account debit. Can I pay by check instead of automatic payments? Students who prefer to pay by cash or check may do so by making a 4-month advance payment. If the student stops taking lessons before the end of 4 months, the unused portion of the advance payment is refunded. How do I cancel automatic payments if I decide to stop taking lessons? We require one month's notice. Students must give notice in writing within the first 7 days of the month in order to cancel the next month's payment. |
